- ➤ Council Bluffs resident Richard 'Boss' Stokes received a surprise visit from White Castle Roofing—neighbors nominated him for a free roof replacement to fix his roof that is more than 10 years past due, and it will be replaced over the next week. KETV
- ➤ Two Council Bluffs neighbors reported severe damage to their homes from recent street work on Kenmore Avenue — heavy machinery caused vibrations, gas line issues, and basement flooding — and have filed claims with the city; they expect an investigation to be completed by late November. WOWT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Artist Gerard Pefung painted the Lunch Lady graffiti nearly 13 years ago near Burlington Station — a work that reflected his Cameroonian roots and later became a part of the local culture when KETV asked him to sign it. KETV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The I-80 project is delayed past its planned October 31 completion due to weather, so NDOT said lane restrictions will shift today from the outside lanes to the inside lanes. Daytime work is projected to finish by the second week of November—final work will happen overnight and the new finish date is still pending. KETV
- ➤ Council Bluffs officials revealed today that over 2,000 residents gave input on a city growth plan focused on attracting young workers and families and on improving housing — with plans to build 2,500 to 3,000 new units to help lower rents and ease homelessness. The plan also aims to boost local confidence — and future surveys will be held every two to three years to monitor progress. WOWT
