- ➤ People facing homelessness got help Tuesday at Baxter Arena when nonprofit Threshold hosted Project Connect—dozens of groups offered blood pressure screenings, veteran benefits help and free food packs. In 2024, the event reached over 270 people and connected them with needed services. KETV

- ➤ On October 25, the Pottawattamie County Veterans Service Office will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony at 623 6th Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Community members are invited to bring American flags for proper retirement, and the event will feature a corridor of flags, a Color Guard demonstration, and a 21-gun salute — a tribute to the flag's symbolic values. Connections Area Agency on Aging Announces “Steak Your Claim” Raffle
Connections Area Agency on Aging is excited to announce the launch of its Steak Your Claim Raffle, offering the chance to win ¼ of locally sourced beef—complete with processing at a local meat locker—valued at over $1,500.
