- ➤ The University of Nebraska Omaha will launch the Nebraska Cyber Matrix this month at the Peter Kiewit Institute to train seven cybersecurity students to fight new hacking threats—using a $14 million grant from the Weitz Family Foundation. - ➤ On Tuesday, voters in Council Bluffs and Carter Lake held a primary election and unofficial results showed four Council Bluffs city council candidates advanced + incumbent Steve Gorman, Cole Button, Jessica Marie Vanderpool, and Ryan Garrison, with the mayoral race led by incumbent Matthew Walsh and Jill Shudak. In Carter Lake, results revealed that four candidates will move on to the general election with incumbent Jacleen Wahl in the lead while Keebie Kessler and Matthew Seminara are tied with four votes and incumbent Victor Skinner and Timothy Mandolfo tied with three votes.
