- ➤ Child Saving Institute and Children’s Square have merged into one nonprofit that will operate under the CSI name—its Council Bluffs campus now called Children’s Square Campus—while planning to expand services and address community needs; the new organization may soon offer classes for domestic violence survivors as it adjusts to Iowa and Nebraska state law differences. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Henry Doorly Zoo is now home to four juvenile Mexican spider monkeys rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking after being confiscated at the southern U.S. border in spring 2024. The monkeys completed a 30-day quarantine and now live in the Lied Jungle (three females and one male) as the species remains endangered due to deforestation and illegal trade. KETV
