A 66-year-old Council Bluffs man with dementia was found more than two miles from his home along Veterans Memorial Highway after his family used a tracking band from Project Lifesaver.
The fire department responded on Aug. 9 — he was located safely 27 minutes later.
Lewis Central schools added a new school resource officer for this school year to boost safety for students and staff.
The officer will work with school personnel to address security concerns.
