  • Joe Welch inspected ghost and munchkin pumpkins on August 15 as he prepared Welch’s Pumpkin Patch in Council Bluffs for fall, and his team reviewed recent pumpkin picking to set up for the season.   • Council Bluffs police are searching for Addison Rose Watkins (a white 16-year-old girl with brown hair, blue eyes, standing 5 foot 5 and weighing about 100 pounds) who went missing Saturday; anyone with information is asked to call 515 725 6036.  The Daily Nonpareil
  • Omaha police are investigating cemetery thefts after councilman Ron Hug reported his parents’ missing vase and learned that similar incidents have spread across the metro—with some stolen items traced to a salvage yard in Council Bluffs, officials urge anyone with a report to file a police report.  WOWT
  • An Arkansas man was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months in prison for a crash last year that killed 82-year-old bicyclist Larry Covalciuc near Valentine on Highway 20—he drove a black Dodge pickup according to court documents.  KETV
