- ➤ Pottawattamie County agreed to pay ex-HR director Jana Lemrick about $112,000 plus benefits until next June even though her last day was August 1 (the separation agreement was approved on July 8 and signed on July 17), and she will keep county equipment until a new director is hired. - ➤ The Iowa DOGE Task Force met Wednesday to refine 45 ideas that may let cities over 50,000 run their own services, change how state funds are spent, and adjust public worker and teacher pay based on performance.
