Peffer's, a family-owned Italian restaurant in the Saddle Creek business district, faced extra stress when the road leading to it closed completely on Wednesday due to a long-planned revitalization project. Owner Dana Peffer said the closure has created parking issues and poor communication—raising fears about a significant impact on business in the coming months—while the project is scheduled to finish in October. - ➤ A back-to-school guide lists start dates for schools across the Omaha metro and shows that Council Bluffs Community Schools will begin on August 25. The guide also explains that a Salvation Army backpack drive will feature a live event at Methodist Women's Hospital on July 31, with drop-offs available until August 3 and distribution set for August 8 and 9.
