- ➤ Last month, ten high school students earned their CNA credentials during a four-week health care boot camp at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in partnership with Avenue Scholars Southwest Iowa—students also earned certifications in first aid, CPR, and basic life support while shadowing staff on the hospital floor. - ➤ After losing her son in a tragic ATV accident in 2017, Wendy Luft helped inspire Logan’s Law that allows Iowa residents to register as organ donors when applying for their hunting, fishing and trapping licenses—since its passage in 2019, over 6,000 new donors have been added. - ➤ County supervisors confirmed they will not support a plan to sell Crescent Hill at Hitchcock to Steven Enterprises. They stated the board lacks legal authority to sell the conservation area and stressed that the master plan is meant to protect the Loess Hills — a focus that guides their decisions.
