Last month, ten high school students earned their CNA credentials during a four-week health care boot camp at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in partnership with Avenue Scholars Southwest Iowa—students also earned certifications in first aid, CPR, and basic life support while shadowing staff on the hospital floor. Kayla Gafford and her peers gained hands-on experience that helped them prepare for future careers in nursing and emergency services.
