- ➤ Heartland Pride will host an event with family night on Friday, July 11 and a parade and festival on Saturday, July 12 along Capitol Street in the Omaha—Council Bluffs Metro area. Vice president Samuel Parnell said about 175 entries are expected to join the parade, which will start at 60th and end at the CHAI Center downtown. KETV

- ➤ Council Bluffs Police, Fire, and Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office launched Project Lifesaver yesterday to help families quickly locate loved ones who wander, including children with autism or seniors with dementia — the free program uses a battery-operated wristband with its own radio frequency — and caregivers are urged to check the battery daily. - ➤ State representative and Marine Corps veteran Matt Windschitl announced his Congressional campaign for Iowa's 4th District on Monday — he said his years of leadership in the Iowa House will help build more freedom for Iowans. - ➤ Council Bluffs Police advised concertgoers for The River’s 30th anniversary concert at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park—and for those attending the Stir Cove show at Harrah’s Casino on Saturday—to park at CHI Health Center Lot D in Omaha and use the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge to reach the venues. They mentioned ADA and deluxe ticket holders may use the park’s parking garage and warned residents to avoid N 40th Street and West Broadway as those roads will be closed. WOWT
