  • On Tuesday, June 3, 200 guests attended the Pottawattamie County Public Health open house at the Health Services Building in downtown Council Bluffs where community members, local government representatives and health organizations toured the building - they viewed displays on services like Animal Control, the Medical Examiner’s Office and WIC while learning about a state-of-the-art training room in use since the facility opened.  Pottawattamie County
  • Team Love Taco, a local biking team, is hosting the fourth annual Wabash Open fundraiser on Saturday, June 14 with a 10-mile ride and a miniature golf challenge along the Wabash Trace Nature Trail—from Council Bluffs to Tobey Jack's Steakhouse.   • Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill that will cut unemployment insurance taxes by half—businesses are set to save nearly $1 billion over the next five years while Rep. Dan Gosa warned the changes might leave less money for unemployed Iowans.  WOWT
  • Residents in parts of Pottawattamie County are returning to normal life after boil water advisories and burn bans were lifted following a crisis caused by low water pressure from high demand and drought conditions—Council Bluffs Water Works is connecting a new pipeline to bring Missouri River water to the area, with the last 3.5 miles near Minden expected to go online around Wednesday and a permanent pump station set for installation this fall.  The Daily Nonpareil
