  • Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson return to solve a new mystery at Bellevue Little Theatre in the play 'Ken Ludwig’s Moriarty.' Five actors play over 40 roles in a globe-trotting story with spies and stolen letters, and the show runs from June 6 through June 22.  KETV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Open Door Mission hosted a celebration to honor children experiencing homelessness for their academic success as the school year ended (with help from Southwest Kiwanis Club volunteers) by serving cookies, pizza, and applause. Daniel Anderson, Assistant Lydia House Director, said the event showed that education can help break the cycle of poverty.  KETV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Exira residents saw the boil water advisory lifted Tuesday after tests in Exira, Brayton, and Earling came back clear—city officials still worry about long-term water sustainability as some restrictions continue and a pipeline from Council Bluffs is set to connect around June 11. Officials said the pipeline may only help the water supply for 3—5 years, leaving many questions about lasting improvements.  KETV

  • Gov. Kim Reynolds signed new laws on June 2 that allow poll workers to challenge a voter's citizenship status — the legislation also standardizes recount procedures, bans ranked choice voting and raises the threshold for major party status.  The Daily Nonpareil
