- ➤ On May 14 at 3:00 p.m., a burn ban was issued for the Avoca, Minden, and Walnut Fire Districts in Pottawattamie County due to a water boil advisory in Avoca+ local fire and emergency management officials said the ban helps conserve water for fire suppression+. Pottawattamie County
- ➤ Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand visited Council Bluffs Tuesday as part of his bid for governor, meeting with Mayor Matt Walsh and community members to discuss housing availability, rising living costs and local economic struggles — his visit was one of two in the state as he plans to visit all 99 counties and claimed his campaign raised over $2 million in the first 24 hours. Sand said his stops help him listen to voter concerns before working to refocus state government on public service. KETV
- ➤ On Monday evening, the Iowa House approved a bill that limits pharmacy benefit managers and sent it to Gov. Kim Reynolds for review.
