- ➤ Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs will move from its riverboat setup to build an inland, single-level gaming facility after receiving approval last week; the $180 to $200 million renovation is expected to take about three years—marking the end of riverboat casinos in the area. WOWT

- ➤ On April 22, officers from Council Bluffs police, Carter Lake police, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office and Iowa State Patrol conducted a four‐hour traffic enforcement campaign on Interstate 80 that issued 102 citations—including 43 speeding tickets and 30 move‐over warnings—in honor of DOT employee Matthew Dickerson, who was killed last year in a work zone.
