ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A survey by the Iowa Business Council shows that leaders of major companies are less positive about the economy and now expect lower sales, reduced capital spending and fewer hires in the coming months — even though most remain in the positive range overall. They hope to work with policymakers as uncertainty grows. WOWT

- ➤ County officials met with residents in Oakland on April 3 to discuss rising property assessments, tax changes, and projects including a streetcar study and road repairs—officials explained that properties are first valued at full market rate before adjustments. Representatives from Emergency Management, the Sheriff’s Office, and Planning provided updates on upcoming projects and urged residents to review their property values if they have questions.
