ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash in Council Bluffs involving a school bus and a Ford pickup occurred near Harry Langdon Boulevard and East South Omaha Bridge Road on Friday around 4 p.m.—the truck driver was trapped and taken to an Omaha hospital with serious injuries while no children were on the bus and the crash remains under investigation. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Investigators from Council Bluffs and other agencies took part in a forensic training exercise at the Omaha Public Safety Training Center on Friday, where they practiced line searching and the careful removal of plastic human remains (used as training models) from the ground. Council Bluffs Crime Scene Investigator Cassie Salter and forensic anthropologist Dr. Brittany Walter led the exercise to prepare teams for investigations like the one near Lake Manawa last year. - ➤ Red Barn Schoolhouse, a new nature-centric public charter school, will open this fall in Crescent to blend traditional academics with outdoor learning (the first of its kind in Pottawattamie County).
