- ➤ Last week a harsh blizzard knocked out power to thousands, causing residents to lose food and turn to agencies like Open Door Mission—Council Bluffs resident Shyanne Dominquez lost hundreds of dollars of food. Mission President Candace Gregory said the pantry quickly moved 30 pallets of protein when power returned Tuesday—meeting rising needs as budgets tightened. WOWT

- ➤ Council Bluffs police arrested 22-year-old Ty'Jon Lamonn Edwards—facing two counts of attempted murder and one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon—after he fired multiple shots outside the O'Face Bar and at an occupied car on Sunday morning, leaving one person with minor injuries and prompting investigators to expect further arrests. - ➤ Broadway's 'Some Like it Hot' is playing at the Orpheum from Tuesday, March 25 through Sunday, March 30 and tells the story of two musicians who flee Chicago after witnessing a mob hit during Prohibition. - ➤ Council Bluffs plans to submit a voluntary annexation plan for about 470 acres that will extend city limits to the Interstate 29 and Bunge Avenue interchange, allowing companies to connect to public utilities for future plant development. Mayor Matt Walsh said the plan, approved by Pottawattamie County but met with non-support from Mills County, will be sent to the state for final approval while addressing road maintenance issues. - ➤ CHI Health doctors said today they are watching for measles and making sure their staff is ready if a patient shows signs of the infection. They advised parents to speak with pediatricians for children under 12 months since some cases in neighboring Kansas involve kids who are not yet vaccinated (the first vaccine is given at 12 months and the second between 4 and 6 years).
