- ➤ Richard Conklin, a person with Down syndrome who was recently diagnosed with dementia, was honored for his 25 years at Arby’s at 136th and Maple as family, friends, and co-workers gathered to celebrate his service. He credited his career start to his brother Jeff (his inspiration). KETV

- ➤ A watchdog group found that the inpatient mental health unit at VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System lacked enough lighting, had inconsistent staffing, and offered limited restroom access for female patients — VA leaders agreed to implement recommended changes after an inspector general report updated Jan. 22.
