Santa’s Sleigh Ride & Tree Lighting

One day, two fun events to welcome Santa to La Vista

Event 1 – Santa’s Sleigh Ride

City Wide Streets, 1 p.m.

All ages will delight in waving at Santa as he passes by on his sleigh. Santa’s Sleigh Ride will begin at 1 p.m. He will be in neighborhoods west of 84th Street approximately 1-3 p.m. He’ll travel through neighborhoods to the east of 84th Street around 3-5 p.m.

How to Spot Santa

Before the Sleigh Ride: check out the maps of Santa’s route (see below)

During the Sleigh Ride: Use our Santa Tracker to see where Santa’s sleigh is along the route. This will help you know when he is approaching your area. View the Santa Tracker by either:

• Downloading the Glympse app from your app store and search for “LaVistaSleighRide”

Pro Tip: To make sure you don’t miss Santa, be outside before he gets to your street! Santa passes by streets more quickly if no one is outside to greet him. He and his crew will travel more slowly when they come across people. So, be ready and waiting outside so that he can spot you!

Event 2 – Tree Lighting

Santa’s Workshop at Central Park, 5-7 p.m. (8305 Park View Blvd.)

Come be part of the excitement at Santa’s Workshop and help us count down as we light the City’s Christmas tree. Santa will be there to light the tree, lead a joyful sing-along and smile for our community selfie.

Tree Lighting Schedule

5 p.m. – Santa’s Workshop Opens

Enjoy free cookies, hot cocoa, glow items, caroling and live animals outside before Santa’s arrival. Lighted decorations in the park will be on so you can snap some holiday photos.

6 p.m. – Santa’s arrival, followed by the Tree Lighting

Santa will make his entrance shortly before the lighting of the tree. After the tree is lit, everyone will be invited to sing a song and take a group selfie with Santa! (Please note: There will not be individual Santa photos at this event.)

7 p.m. – Workshop closes and the event ends
