Winter Witches and Festive Frights

About this event

As the winter nights grow longer, we welcome those with inquiring minds for an illuminating evening exploring Winter Witches and Festive Frights! To get in the Krampus spirit, the Joslyn Castle Carriage House will host a history happy hour with a presentation by friend of the Castle and folklore fan, Meg Welch, to introduce seasonal characters of European legend. Get familiar with Krampus and his pop-culture counterpart, Lady Krampus, Mari Lwyd, and the tradition of Mummers and Christmas mischief! This is a wonderful time to get costume inspiration for our second annual Krampus Ball! The Castle bar will be offering seasonal refreshments for sale including a winter wassail punch for adults and a (nonalcoholic) spiced apple cider. Please present a valid ID to purchase alcoholic beverages. This is a free all ages event! Registration is kindly requested.
